David Sutphen

David Sutphen is a Managing Director and Global Head of Government Affairs and Philanthropy at Sixth Street.
Prior to joining Sixth Street in 2025, David co-founded Jasper Advisors and held senior leadership roles at 2U, Brunswick, Viacom, the Recording Industry Association of America, and in United States Senate and House of Representatives. He also clerked on the US Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
He received a B.A. from Amherst College and a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.
