R. Martin ("Marty") Chavez

Marty Chavez is a Partner and Vice Chairman at Sixth Street. He focuses on strategic initiatives across Sixth Street, including the firm's digital strategy.

Prior to joining Sixth Street in 2021, Marty served in executive roles at Goldman Sachs, including chief information officer, chief financial officer and global co-head of the Securities division. Earlier, he co-founded and served as chief executive officer of Kiodex, which was acquired by SunGard, and chief technology officer of Quorum Software Systems.

Marty received an A.B., magna cum laude, in Biochemical Sciences and an S.M. in Computer Science from Harvard University and a Ph.D. in Medical Information Sciences from Stanford University.
