Paul Dodd and Tim Bonacci on Luma Financial Technologies' Partnership with Sixth Street

Tim Bonacci: My name is Tim Bonacci. I'm the CEO and President of Luma Financial Technologies. Luma is a two-sided market platform for alternative investments where we connect the sell side, big manufacturers like JP Morgan to the buy side, which were advisors, like advisors of Merrill Lynch. We don't go to consumers. We sell to advisors in multiple countries across the world.

Paul Dodd: Luma was interesting for many reasons, but what was really unique is Sixth Street's position and understanding the complex end markets allowed us to really look at the one team approach, how we can bring value to Luma and the collaborative nature of Luma just fit our culture.

Tim Bonacci: We've worked very closely with the More the Capital Group in Sixth Street on a pricing and packaging study. We started getting the data back and we were talking back and forth. It dawned on me like, holy cow, this looks like a really big upside. It was an exciting and fun time, but it was a very collaborative dialogue.

Paul Dodd: And your willingness to kind of really understand that yes, this is gonna require me to rethink, but also take the courage to change things inside the organization from systems to go-to-market, motion to product.

Tim Bonacci: The more the capital team has really helped us on the product and engineering's front. We were already using some AI from external revenue generating things, but what we hadn't done as well is take some of the AI things to make ourselves more efficient. We've implemented coding agents, business analysis agents. We've yielded benefits from it, for sure. The recruiting side as well. The More Than Capital team brought a number of individual candidates to us directly. Also connecting with some search firms to really help us for some key roles that have really helped us to continue our global growth. We knew we were doing pretty well, we were profitable, we're growing really fast. By working with More Than Capital team in sixth Street, that looks like a much more likely outcome of maximizing the value. The collaboration has been fantastic. Having this partnership increases the likelihood of success much more.
